PORTO ALEGRE 2008
The first edition of  FILE POA 2008 - Festival Internacional de Linguagem Eletrônica de Porto Alegre, is hosted in Santander Cultural, from february 19th to april 20th of 2008.
FILE POA 2008 works are the result of an intense research and selection that launched a great variety of national and international production in the past years in the fields of digital and electronic arts.
FILE MEDIA ART

Every edition, FILE contributes to expand and to gather cyberculture networks, emphasizing net-art as the major cultural fact of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, becoming one of the world's largest archive of the genre.

Think of an internet which is not only made of online stores, homebanking services, e-mails, and big portals. The new media may be much more than just their original functions. Media Art shows how to "soften" the hardness of functionality and to create an environment of creativity and artistic discussion.

INSTALLATIONS

To create an environment in space is not a simple task. Even more complex is to create an environment that reacts to the actions of individuals who inhabit that place. An artist who creates interactive installations formulates a nature with its own, original dynamics, reconfiguring our habits of moving in space, of listening to the world, of observing architecture, of relating to other individuals. The presential, the virtual and the public share the space within FILE PORTO ALEGRE's installations.

FILE PORTO ALEGRE 2008 will exhibit:
Andrew Hieronymi, Christus Nóbrega, Cícero da Silva e Marcos Khoriati, Ernesto Klar, Han Hoogerbrugge, Frédéric Durieu, Kristine Malden, Jean-Jacques Birgé &Thierry Laval (LeCielEstBleu), Leonardo Solaas, Márcio Ambrósio, Maria Hsu, Paula Perissinotto, Rafael Beznos, Rejane Cantoni & Leonardo Crescenti, Ricardo Barreto, Thais Stoklos, Tim Coe, Yacine Sebti, Young-Hae Chang.

INTERACTIVE MOVIES
An interactive film potentiates the audience to become a key piece to the narrative's evolution. They don't just watch, as they also act, edit, choose paths and interact with characters and plastic images, recreating time, uniting people with technology's tools. The movie screen becomes more and more personalized in this category that doesn't have a fixed closure.

PANORAMAS

Panoramas are photos that generally allow to observe 360º from a given point. Presently, the internet offers a great variety of interactive Panoramas, in which one may immerse and have singular experiences in the observation of a picture: to glide through the photo environment, to explore different angles of a same landscape.

SCREENING
Hipersonica shows how hybrid art can be when remixed with sonorities, videos, noises, transmissions, body interaction and strange objects.

CINE DOCUMENTA

Cinema Documenta is a sample of new social, behavioral and cultural phenomena in the 21st century. With a revealing and critical gaze, events and products originated from the digital whirlwind are portrayed, carrying signs of desires, fears and behaviors of the society that designs and consumes them.
